Rosina was born in beautiful, sunny Italy and raised in Montreal, which is also beautiful and often sunny. Artistic by nature, Rosina obtained her BA in English Literature, briefly tried her hand at acting, recorded a dance single that was a hit in Europe, and produced live theatre. She found her niche casting for film and television, co-founding one of Canada’s premiere casting agencies, which has run successfully for over 25 years. In 2005 Rosina discovered oil painting, a passion that she has been pursuing ever since.
She currently trains at Studio Couleur d’Art where she enjoys exploring a variety of subjects ranging from urban winter scenes to sunny beaches.
Her paintings can be found in private collections in Canada and the US.
I am inspired by my surroundings: the familiar and the everyday transformed by the play of light and colour; a change in weather that can convert a scene from ordinary to exotic.
The ephemeral nature of mood and atmosphere fascinates me. It is my aim to capture the evanescent quality of my environment on canvas, allowing me to share and revisit it like an old friend.
